Frances “Annette” Carter Howell, 79, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. “Annette” was born in Davie County on December 22, 1938, to the late Charlie Baxter Carter and Lilly Frances Ridenhour Carter. She attended Cooleemee High School along with her late husband, Clifton Wayne Howell, Jr. who died June 24, 2017, after 61 years of marriage.

Her career was that of a homemaker for her family. She was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church.

Her memory will be cherished by two daughters, Patricia Lohr (Lloyd) of Lexington and Kathy Conrad (Bobby) of Linwood; two sons, Chuck Howell (Betsy) of Lexington and Shannon Howell (Mary) of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Judy Grubbs (Den) and Jean Wall, both of Mocksville; six grandchildren: Stephanie, Whitney, Meredith, Adrian, Travis and Miranda; and three great grandchildren: Jacob, Gavin and Grant.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the lives of Annette and Clifton will be held at Grubb’s Party Barn, 130 Kent Lane, Mocksville, on Saturday, February 3, from 3:00 until 4:00 PM.
