Wanda Church Costner

Wanda Church Costner, 61, passed away late Friday evening on May 24, 2019 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A native of Davidson county born on September 7, 1957, a daughter to the late couple Mr. Roy Lee Church Sr. and Ruby Potts Church. Preceding her in death other than her parents are a husband of many years, Mr. Richard Henry Johnson.

She attended Central High School. She was a member of Heavenly Sunlight Baptist Church in Lexington. For twelve years she worked at Cardinal Steel Drum as a general laborer. She enjoyed spending time with her daughters as much as she could.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Jane Hamilton (George), Jennifer Johnson both of Lexington; seven brothers, Ray Church, Frank Church, Roy Jr. Church (Barbara), Robert Church (Susan), George Church (Sharon), Tim Church (Sharon), James Church (Pam) all of Lexington; three sisters, Sherry Rolph, Debbie Gilley (Terry), Ida Purdue (PeeWee) all of Lexington; and six grandchildren, Katlyn, Damien, Felix, Jacob, Lee, and Izac.

A celebration of life service will be held at Freedom Baptist Church on Wednesday at 12:00 PM with Allen Smith officiating. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service.
