Tony Eugene Fortenberry, age 73 of Lexington passed away April 9, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Fortenberry was born on June 20, 1947 in Davidson County, N.C. the son of the late Frank and Mary Louise Mauney Miller.
Mr. Fortenberry was owner of his own business, Tony’s Painting for 40 years. He attended Lexington City Schools. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed painting, coaching Little League, softball and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Louise Miller, one brother Ted Kiger, his grandmother, Estelle Mauney and his grandfather, Millard Mauney.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Rhonda Sue Thomason Fortenberry of 55 years, two sons, Chris Fortenberry of Lexington, Mark Lyons Jr. of Lexington, one daughter, Kelly Doorley of Lexington, one brother, Johnny Miller (Lisa) of Lexington, one sister, Patsy Everhart (Tommy) of Lexington and three grandchildren, Jordan Robbins, Chance Fortenberry, Spencer Doorley and his beloved fur baby “Bella”.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2:00pm at New Testament Baptist Church, Pastors Bob Floyd, Jimmy Greene and Randy Foster will be officating.
Family ask that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
