Thomas "Tom" Virco Farmer
1941-2020
Thomas “Tom” Virco Farmer, 79, of Linnwood died at Lexington Medical Center, Friday, April 24, 2020. Thomas was a native of Jackson County. A son born to the late couple, Jerome Simon Farmer and Mauda Lee Carver Farmer on January 11, 1941. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Rosco Farmer, Lonzo Farmer, and two sisters, Edith Harris and Lucy Harris.
Thomas was a graduate of Webster High, Class of 1968. For more than twenty years he worked in the metal industry as crew chief at PMI. He was a member of Christian Baptist Church and was of Baptist faith.
He leaves behind a loving wife of fifty- four years, Dorothy Ann Minor Farmer; two daughters, Dorothy Zena Everhart (Larry Burke of Asheboro, Mauda Viola Herring (Roderick Jr.) of Linwood, two sisters, Katherine Findley of Lexington, Mary Owens of Sylvia; six grandchildren, T.J. Everhart, Amber Dettloff (Jacob), Brittany Johnson, Allen Johnson, Terry Johnson, Becky and Greg Lain; and one great grandchild, Jackson Dettloff.
In order to comply with the laws of COVID-19, the family will host a private service at a later date.
The family ask that in lieu of flowers any donations be made to Christian Baptist Church or to the funeral home to help with the expenses of the services.
