Sylvia Sidney (Lookabill) Beeson

Sylvia Sidney Lookabill Beeson, 79, passed away at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on May 4, 2022.

Ms. Beeson was born in Davidson County, on May 12, 1942, to Willie Jacob Lookabill and Ola Smith Lookabill, who preceded her in death.

She worked for the law firm of Debevoise and Plimpton in Washington D.C. for thirty years until her retirement in 2011. She attended West Davidson High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina. Ms. Beeson was a member of Becks Lutheran Church.

In her retirement she enjoyed feeding and watching birds from her deck, knitting and crocheting projects at an expert level for herself, friends, and family, and spending time with her beloved cat, Jake.

Those left to remember her are a daughter, Carrie Carpenter (Lee) of Owings, MD, a brother, Bill Lookabill (Linda) of Lexington, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, a niece and nephew, great nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Kathy McDonald, of Durham.

No services are scheduled at this time.
