To be absent from the body is to present with the Lord and on August 15,2021 Samuel Lee Prevette Jr., also known as “Sammy” by family and friends, age 76 of Tilden Nursery Rd. passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Prevette was born in Davidson County on December 14, 1944 to Samuel Lee Prevette, Sr. and Gloria Sink Prevette. He worked at Binnings as a draftsman and then later retired from Atrium windows and doors as an engineer. He was a graduate of Lexington Sr. High where he was known by the wrestling tear as “Riphawk”. He was a graduate of Lee-McCrae where he held the 440 Dash and was known as the “Flash”. He also. attended N.C. State. Mr. Prevette was drafted into the Army and served in Germany as a TEC-4. He was a member of Genisis Baptist Church of Kannapolis.
Mr. Prevette was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Avril Jane Prevette and a grandson, Samuel Wayne.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Grisdale Prevette of the home, his daughters, April Eve Jernigan (Jason), Stephanie Miller, Victoria Jones and many grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Steven Sink Prevette (Sharon), two sisters, Tamara Prevette Byrd (James), Gretchen Ann Prevette Trexler and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life service on August 30, 2021, at 2pm at the Salisbury National Cemetery with full military honors. Preacher Gene Edwards will be officiating.
