Rita Sue Warner Potter, 69 of Lexington, went to join her beloved husband of 46 years Keen “Paul” Johnson Potter in Heaven. She also joins her parents, Elzie Lee Warner and Verla Dyer, children, Doris Ann Peak, Kenneth Allen Potter, and friend, Shirley Simpson.
Rita was born in West Virginia where later she moved to North Carolina and raised her wonderful children. Rita was many things, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and many more. She loved her family and friends and loved spending time with them. Rita attended Lexington Pentecostal Church of the Living God.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Marvin Potter (Rhonda) of Lexington, daughters, Dianna Whitaker (Eric) of Lexington, Charlene Williams (Jessie) of Lexington, Della Baxter (Bob) of Lexington, Melia Rife (David) of Lexington, brother, Jerry Osburn (Donna) of Illinois, sisters, Loretta Miller (Wright) of Alabama, Lorraine Cody of Illinois, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and Coco her beloved Yorkie.
The family will hold a Wake on Friday, March 26, 2021 starting at 7:00 PM at Lexington Pentecostal Church of the Living God. Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Church. The committal will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Park 3410 Coal Heritage Rd, Bluefield, WV 24701.
