In Loving Memory Of
Phillip Gordon Sr.

Phillip E. Gordon, 88, passed away at Lexington Health Care Center. He was a native of Yakima, Washington. Born January 1, 1931, a son of the late Calmer Carl and Mary Gordon, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Elizabeth Gordon; four sisters, Imolee Butler, Cleora “Cody” Emerson, Bobbi Shineman, his twin sister, Phillis Haywood; a son Phillip Gordon Jr.; a great grandson, Logan Sennick; a great granddaughter, Julianne Sennick; and a great great grandson, Ryan Duncan.
Mr. Gordon joined the US Army in 1948 and served for two years. He retired in 1986 from the Connecticut Department of Corrections after thirty years of service. Mr. Gordon was a member of Grace Alliance Church in Lexington, where he served as a deacon. He volunteered to help serve Meals On Wheels. He spent hours visiting with the elderly at local rest homes. He had a deep commitment to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and that was reflected in his love and care for others.
Those left to cherish his memory are a son, Bruce Gordon of Canterbury, CT.; five daughters, Dorothy Duncan and Judy Gordon both of Lexington, NC., Vera Richter (Lars) of Trinity, NC., Bonnie Appleton (Keith) of Canterbury, CT., Lori Godaire (Michael) of Lexington, NC; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Grace Alliance Church on March 23, 2019, at 2:00 PM.
