Mildred Verline Witt, 84, of Lexington, entered in the presence of Heaven, on Friday, November 4, 2022 at home, surrounded by her family and friends.
She was born May 23, 1938, in Campbell County, VA, to Roy Witt and Myrtle “Layne” Witt.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Cecil Witt and Roy Witt, Jr.
Miss Witt leaves behind, two sons, Keith Witt of Lexington, Kenneth Witt (Ann) of Salisbury, two daughters, Shelby Marlow of Lexington and Donna, two sisters, Rosa Adams of Virginia, Ruby Manly (Charles) of Lexington, thirteen grandchildren, Mitzi Blackwell (Joseph), Scotty Beck, Jr. (Haley), Brandon Beck, Kristina Davis (Fahiem), Amanda Smallwood (Kenneth), Hannah Smallwood, Heather Smallwood (Travis), Gary Preas (Alicia), Roger Preas (Jessie), Michael Witt, Kenneth Witt, Jr., Dominique Hunt, Samantha Hunt, twenty- two great – grandchildren, Damilla Madden, Leland Blackwell, Jaxson Blackwell, JJ Brownlow, Addsyn Brownlow, Abba Brownlow, SJ Brownlow, Brayden Brownlow, Khloe Elise, Eloni Rose, Josiah Amir, Samari Nicole, Avonna Kristina, Avanna Page, Nate Preas, Samara Preas, Bella Beck, Morgan Preas, Isabella Beck, Ethan, Nekyah Friday, Julian Friday , numerous nieces and nephews, as well as special friends, Judy Hunt, Julie Friday and Big Joe.
Mildred worked in the furniture industry as a bander at Dixie Furniture. She attended school in Virginia. Miss Witt attended Freedom Baptist Church. She Liked flowers, her dogs and birds and adored her grandchildren.
Gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, November 12 2022, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Freedom Baptist Church in Lexington and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held after visitation at 12:00pm with Pastor Clyde Akers officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Cemetery. Family ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made toward funeral expenses.
