Melissa Dawn Wilkes

Melissa Dawn Hubbard Wilkes passed away at her home on Saturday, October 23, 2021.

Mrs. Wilkes was born in Hampton, Va. on May 10, 1964, to Donald Gene Hubbard and Barbara Ann Loftin Hubbard.

She attended Davidson Co. Schools, the class of 1982 and also worked for them  in food service  for 20 years. She loved being a mother and grandmother. She also enjoyed spending time at her cabin on the Dan River.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Hubbard, and her grandparents: Yates Loftin (Lottie), Marquerite Hubbard (William).

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Brian “Kent” Wilkes, her mother-in-law, Gaynell Brown of Lexington, one son: Jeremiah “BeBo” Wilkes of Lexington, one daughter: Krista Wilkes (Josh “Pug” Whitman) of Lexington, two sisters: Brenna McCrary (Mike) of Lexington, Michelle Dunning (Eddie) of Lexington, and two grandchildren: Colton Everhart, Charleigh Wilkes.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Family requests that memorials be made to American Cancer Society.
