Lynne Fancy, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Born April 17, 1948, in Greensboro, North Carolina to Vernon Coltrane and Gertrude “Trudy” Cochran Coltrane.
Lynne was preceded in death by both her parents, as well as her beloved husband, Gary.
Lynne leaves behind her siblings, Brenda C. Hubbard, Roger L. Coltrane (wife, Maria) and Donald E. Coltrane (wife, Chieko) as well as her daughter, Heather Fancy Kosowski, and her grandchildren, Brandon Sterling (wife, Evie) and Shelby Smith.
Lynne studied education at Appalachian State University and spent much of her life as a teacher, and married the love of her life, Gary, in 1987.
Lynne kept very active after retirement with a number of volunteer activities, and was once quoted as saying she loved volunteering – “it’s satisfying to do something for somebody else”.
She enjoyed being involved with her church such as the Adult Choir, Chairman of Prayer Partners, Board of Directors for Mount Moriah & Kidron Korner, Safety Committee, and many more.
Music was a huge part of Lynne’s life from early childhood. She was a member of the Davidson County Senior Chorus from 2010, and director from 2014 until 2019. She loved singing along as her late husband played the piano.
As an avid animal lover, Lynne was also involved with the Animal Care Foundation of Lexington. Lynne was a loyal friend, wonderful wife, and loving mother and grandmother.
A celebration of her life will be held at North Lexington Baptist Church located at 201 Mize Rd, Lexington, NC, 27295, on Sunday August 7, 2022 at 4pm.
