Lori Marie (Blackwell) Reed, 43, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A native of Davidson County, she was born December 18, 1974 the daughter of Jimmy Dale Blackwell, Sr. and Doris Marie Phillips. She was the widow of the late Ricky Reed and they were married for 20 years prior to his passing in 2014.
Lori graduated from Central Davidson High School with the Class of 1993. She was a homemaker and attended Life Tabernacle Church.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Jimmy Dale Blackwell, Sr. and wife, Peggy, and her mother and step-father, Doris Phillips Wood and husband, Tommy, all of Lexington; three step-sons: Ricky Shawn Reed, Chris Reed and Austin Reed, all of Statesville; one brother, Jimmy Dale Blackwell, Jr. (Jennifer) of Lexington; two step-sisters, Lisa Easterday Payne of Tyro and Kala Wood of Lexington; four step-brothers: Charles, Gardner and George Easterday, all of Maryland, and Matthew Wood of Lexington; six step-grandchildren; a maternal step-grandmother, Sara Hemstetler of Lexington; plus three nephews and four nieces.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Delbert and Eula Phillips and her paternal grandparents, Burris and Josephine Blackwell.
The body will lie in state at Davie Burial & Cremation Chapel Friday, March 16, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:50 PM. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM with Pastor Clyde Akers officiating.
