Kelly Sue Fortenberry Doorley passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Mrs. Doorley was born in Davidson County, NC on January 15, 1968, to Tony Eugene Fortenberry and Rhonda Sue Thomason Fortenberry.
She attended Lexington Senior High, class of 1986. She was a Substitute Teacher for Davidson County schools for twenty years. She loved teaching the children.
She was proceeded in death by her father, Tony Fortenberry, and her grandparents..
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Rhonda Fortenberry, her significant other, Joe Lipscomb, sons, Jordan Robbins of Lexington, Spencer Doorley of Lexington, Colton Lipscomb of Columbus, Ga., Kyle Lipscomb of Columbus Ga. two brothers, Chris Fortenberry, of Lexington, Mark Lyons Jr., of Lexington, one grandchild, Jayvin Barnes, a nephew, Chance Fortenberry and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Higher Ground Baptist Church from 2:00pm – 3:00pm. Celebration of Life Service will be at 3:00pm with Rev. Jimmy Greene, Rev. Bob Floyd and Rev. Randy Foster officiating.
Family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
