Kathy Lawson

Kathy Lawson, 72, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024 at her home in Lexington.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Davidson County, North Carolina on February 28, 1951, to the late Johnnie Sowers Owens and Geneva Inez Branson Owens.

Mrs. Lawson graduated from Lexington High School class of 1969 and attended Salem Business College.  She was previously employed with Binnings Windows and Doors; Hekman Furniture; National Wholesale/Direct Mail; and was currently a Real Estate Broker for Leonard Craver Realty.  She was a very active member of Paul’s Chapel for forty-two years, as well as an active member of the West Lexington Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and the West Lexington Swim Club. 

She is survived by her husband; Roger Dale Lawson; two sons, Shane Lawson (Melissa), Joshua Lawson (Michelle); one sister, Judy Owens Harvey (Wendle); and five grandchildren, Reigna, Jada, Noah, Olivia, and Drake.

Mrs. Lawson had a love and passion for all animals.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Paul’s Chapel.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Paul’s Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Long, officiating.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Paul’s Chapel Youth Fellowship, 2791 West Center St Ext, Lexington, NC 27295.
