Judy Mae (Painter) Furr

Judy Mae Furr, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2023, at the age of 77 in Lexington, NC. She was born on September 5, 1945, to her late parents, Lawerence Lee and Lena Grubb Painther.

 Judy will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her daughter, Tammy Forrest of Lexington, her son, Chip McBride (Allison) of Waldroff, MD;  her granddaughter, Lena McBride; her sister, Patty Carter of Lexington; and her brothers, Melvin Painther (Bertie) of Summerville and Troy Painther (Cathy) of Salisbury.

Judy was a warm-hearted and caring individual who touched the lives of all who knew her. She had a passion for gardening and spent many hours taking care of her yard.

Judy's love for her family was unwavering, and she always put their needs before her own.

Judy will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature.  She had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Judy's legacy of love, compassion, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation will be held to honor and celebrate Judy's life Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 4:00 – 6:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Judy's memory to a charity of your choice.
