John Richard Howard

John “Richard” Howard, 73 of Advance passed away, Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center.

He was born September 10, 1951, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, to the late John Charles Howard and Rebecca Ann Wilson Howard.

He was a member of Redland Church. Richard loved fishing, blacksmithing, and serving in his church.  He was active in his community and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruby Howard; two daughters, Susan Pearson (Jay), Rebecca Fuquay (Charles III “Trey”); a sister, Mary Gowan; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Emmeline and Blythe Pearson.

The family will have a Celebration of Life at Redland Church on Monday, February 3, 2025, at 11:00am with Pastor David Richardson, officiating.  The visitation will be at the church forty-five minutes prior to the service from 10:00am to 10:45am. 

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to Redland Church or the church of the donor's choice.
