Janey (Wood) Hughes

Janey Wood Hughes passed away peacefully, on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at her home.

Mrs. Hughes was born in Wilkes County, NC on June 25, 1940, to John Andrew Wood and Lena Luray Casey Wood.

She enjoyed reading, dogs and was known to have a “green thumb” and enjoyed working with plants.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Lena Wood, her spouse, a son, Robert Price, a brother, Floyd Wood and several half brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Johnny Price of PA., one daughter, Donna Pressley (Glenn) of Lexington, four brothers, Wayne Wood (Carolyn) of Lexington, Leon Wood (Billie) of Lexington, Doug Wood (Joyce) of Va., Robert Wood (Brenda) of Lexington, one sister, Susie Wood of Lexington, fourteen grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM, at Smith Grove Baptist Church in Linwood.
