James Ethridge Young

James Ethridge Young, 87, of Lexington, NC, passed away November 16, 2024 at Thomasville Medical Center.

James was born on August 30, 1937 in Hillsborough, NC.

James served in the United States Army Reserve and retired from the Printing Industry as a Graphic Artist.  James was a member of First Baptist Church of Welcome.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. V.A, Young and Marjorie Young; as well as two brothers, Rev. Billy Young and Bobby Young.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Young; two sons, Craig Young (Tammy), Terry Young; one brother, Tommy Young; five grandchildren, Rhiannon Webber, Chris Young, Amy Canter (Jason), Gracie Fish (Esh), Collin Young; and five great grandchildren; Faith Webber, Hope Webber, Skylar Sidden, Weston Canter, and Eleanor Fish.

The family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Welcome.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.  The Rev. Sandy Young will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gideons International or a charity of donor’s choice.
