Hazel Virginia Metcalf Jones, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the Hinkle Hospice House of Davidson County.
Hazel was born in Polk County, North Carolina, on September 1, 1938, to the late William Metcalf Jr and Blanche Blanton Metcalf.
Mrs. Jones retired from the Dixie Furniture. She was a member of Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church in Lexington, North Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Edwin Jones Sr; two children, Lisa Jones Flynn and Paul Edwin Jones Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory is her son, Buddy Langley (Gloria); three daughters, Linda “Cindy” Fields, Sheila Walters (Charles), Paula Martin (Mike); two brothers, Bob Metcalf (Arlee), Larry Metcalf (Donnie); one sister, Marie Crisp; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; and a special care giver, Janice Geisler
The family will have a gathering of family and friends on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church, with a Celebration of Life service immediately following the visitation at 2:00pm, with Pastor Doug McGee, officiating the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
