Harold Wayne Shipton of Oakwood Acres passed away March 2, 2023 at the age of 75.
He was born September 21, 1947 in Denton, North Carolina to Marvin and Essie May Shipton.
Wayne was a tool and die machinist with Creative Plastic Molds (CPM) for more than 30 years. Affectionately known by his children as “Dear Ol’ Dad”, Wayne was an avid Harley Davidson rider and fisherman, who enjoyed spending time with his friends in Oakwood Acres. He will be lovingly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, and for always being a man of his word.
Wayne is survived by his partner, Dianne Bragg of the home; his four children: Michael Wayne Shipton of Chapel Hill, NC; Wendy Hughes of Lexington, NC; Mitzi Warner of Redditch, England; and Adam Shipton of Lexington, NC; as well as his beloved dog Chopper. He was also a father figure to Wayne Bragg and Wes Bragg. In addition, he is survived by his siblings Becky Hicks of Lexington, NC and Harvey Shipton of Wimauma, Florida.
The family will have a private interment at a later date. Memorials may be made to Davidson County Cancer Services or Hospice of Davidson County.
We at Davie Burial and Cremation of Lexington, are honored to be serving the Shipton family.
