Gary Wayne Hayes

Gary “Wayne” Hayes 61 of Lexington, N.C. (Tyro Community) went to be with the Lord Friday, October 28, 2022 at Thomasville Medical Center. 

He was born in Columbus, Ohio September 25, 1961 to Donald E. Hayes and Ruby R. Hayes Cline.

He is survived by his mother, one brother Donald E. Hayes, Jr., “Duke”, one sister Cheryl Hayes Thomas and husband Clint, one niece Ashley Johnson Southern and husband Paul, one great- niece Bailey Southern and his best friend Kenny Grant.

Mr. Hayes was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.

Wayne loved all sports, especially golf and Nascar racing.  Mr. Hayes was a regular attendee at flea markets, yard sales and estate sells.  He also enjoyed bluegrass music.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Monday, October 31, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Davie Burial & Cremation Chapel and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 3:00pm. Burial will follow at Higher Ground Baptist Church Cemetery off Lamb Rd., in Tyro, with Pastor Andy Boyer officiating.

The family wishes to thank Thomasville Medical Center staff for their excellent care during his brief illness.
