Fletcher Johnson Swicegood

On the morning of September 27th 2024 at the age of 76, the spirit of Mr. Fletcher Johnson Swicegood of Marshall Byerly Road in Lexington, NC left his earthly body and entered the gates of Heaven.

Fletcher was born in Davidson County the eldest of six children to parents Bertie Hanes Swicegood and Elmer Swicegood on May 15th, 1948. He was a graduate of West Davidson High School, and eventually went on to spend over four decades traveling the country earning a living as a transfer truck driver. At just 19 years old he married the love of his life, and 13 years later was blessed to become the proud father of a son. He had a deep appreciation for a simple life, throughout which he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and car racing; but his greatest passion was spreading the word of Jesus Christ to the members of his community.

Fletcher is survived by his wife of 57 years, Kenny Leigh Wilkins Swicegood; his son, Justin Lee Swicegood and wife Danielle Damron Swicegood; and five siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 6th at Reeds Baptist Church in Lexington. Kenny, Justin and Danielle will welcome visitors at 4:00pm in the Sanctuary, followed by a memorial service at 5:00pm.
