Evelyn Gail (Kilby) Cannon

Evelyn Gail Cannon, age 66 of Lexington, N.C. passed away September 24, 2020 at her home after an illness of several years.

Mrs. Cannon was born on Sept. 13, 1954 in Burke, County, the daughter of the late Arvil Glen Kilby and Peggy Caylor Kilby.   

Mrs. Cannon worked as a cook in a nursing home for thirteen years.  She attended school in the High Point school system. She was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, the beach and living life to the fullest. She was a strong lady and never let life get her down.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvil and Peggy Kilby, as well as two brothers and three sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband  of forty eight years, Randy Cannon, three sons, Rusty (Angela), of Lexington, Chadwick ( Jodie) of Thomasville, Jody,  of Lexington, a daughter, Krystal Cannon (Paul), four grandchildren, Haleigh & Hannah Sparks, Matthew  & Heather Cannon, and two great grandchildren,  Brandon Burns, Sophia Kennedy.  She is also survived by a brother, Bobby Kilby (Glenda) of Lexington, three sisters, Debra Horton, Lisa Kilby and Kathy Kilby all of Murphy, N.C.

Gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020 from 11:00 – 12:00 noon at Madison Heights Free Will Baptist Church.  Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 noon with the Rev. David Robinson officiating.  Interment will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park  Cemetery.
