Elizabeth Ann Hamilton Woodie, 75, died on Sunday, January 19, 2020. She was a native of Hartnett County, North Carolina. A daughter born to the late Harold A. Hamilton and Gertrude Canaey Hamilton on August 25, 1945. She is preceded in death by both parents, husbands, Richard L. Fritts and Kenneth Ray Woodie II, one brother, R.C. Hamilton.
Elizabeth attended the Hartnett County Schools as a child. She was very proud to be a homemaker for her family. Elizabeth was a member of Lexington Church of God and was of the Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Tina Swicegood (Randall) of Lexington, Tammy Fritts and Susan Thomas both of Linwood; a sister, Violet Burkhart of Lexington; five grandchildren, Brandi Hollman, Randy Swicegood, Tony Lilly, Richard Thomas, Keith Thomas; and great grandchildren Conner Swicegood, Cannon Swicegood, Shawn Hollman, and Logan Hollman.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Thursday January 23, 2020 at Antioch Baptist Church in Lexington from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jerry Beck and Preacher Bill Freeman officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church following the service.
