Elizabeth Grey Leonard Miller better known as “Libby”, 78, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC after a valiant battle with melanoma.
Libby was born in Davidson County, North Carolina on October 13, 1945, to the late Paul Waitman Leonard and Alma Arlene Swing Leonard.
Libby graduated from Lexington Senior High School and was a retired Property Manager for Community Management/Green Hill Apartments. She was a past member of Shiloh Methodist Church, where she held numerous positions, such as choir director and pianist. Libby was a devoted mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment she had with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She had a vibrant personality and a contagious laugh and always made those around her happy. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, shagging, beach and mountain trips, baking delicious bread, gardening, and watching her Carolina Tarheels! Libby was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her. You were our peace, our laughter, our tears, our home, and mostly, our love.
Libby was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold Dean Leonard.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Todd Leonard (Gerry Sedillo); daughter, Tiffany Leonard; four grandchildren, Austin Leonard, Ciara Leonard, Paul Leonard, Sarah Horne (Brandon), one great granddaughter, Charlie Horne, one niece, Julie Leonard, and her two very special lifelong friends, Phyllis Finger and Frances Garner.
The family will have a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on March 9, 2024, at 2:00pm, at Davie Burial and Cremation Chapel in Lexington, with Pastor Reggie Hunt, officiating. The family will greet friends for a short time, immediately following the service.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation.
We at Davie Burial and Cremation Services of Lexington are honored to be serving the Miller family.
