Earnest Boyd Garrison, 86, died in the early evening hours on Sunday, November 3, 2019. A native of Davidson County, a son born on May 19, 1933 to the late Claude Joseph Garrison and Inez Swicegood Garrison. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Archie, Dallas, and Carlton.
Earnest attended Reeds School as a small child. He retired from the furniture industry where he worked in the finishing department at United Furniture. He was a member at Spruce St. Baptist Church
Those remaining to cherish his memory are a loving wife of sixty-six years, Janice Garrison; a son, Charles Garrison (Jamie) of Lexington; three daughters, Shirley James (Melvin), Nancy Ellenburg (Brian) both of Lexington, Dawn Swing of Thomasville; a sister, Angeline Everhart (Dewey) of Lexington, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 in the chapel at Forest Hill Memorial Park from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, with the service beginning at 1:00 PM. The officiators will be Preacher Clyde Akers, Rev. Sammy Allison, and Rev. Terry Coates. Interment will take place immediately following the service at the cemetery.
