Duane Lee Shields, 61, passed away early Thursday morning in Davidson County. A native of Nicholas County, West Virginia, born June 5, 1957. A son to the late Lloyd Lee Shields and Frances Mae Sparks Shields. Duane was a graduate from Richwood High School. For more than 20 years he worked as a coal miner in Summerville, West Virginia. He served his country as a Marine. Those left to cherish his memory are a loving wife of 31 years, Vicki Lynn Davis Shields; one son Duane L. Baughman of Summerville, West Virginia; two brothers, David L. Shields (Pam) of Summerville, West Virginia, Damon L. Shields of Tennessee; one sister, Mary Frances (Barry) of Charleston, West Virginia; Other special loved ones, Steven Cook; with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends and loved ones Monday March 11, 2019 from 6:00 – 7:00pm in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation in Lexington. A celebration of life service will start at 7, officiated by Rev. Gene Aldridge. Davie Burial & Cremation of Lexington will be serving the family.
