Doris Carol Cox, 81, died on November 27, 2022 at Abbotts Creek Nursing and Rehab.
She was born December 8, 1940 in Atlantic City, NJ to Joseph Campbell and Henrietta Garrison Campbell.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Thomas Herring , Charles Cox, sister Eugenia Stiltner, brothers, Joseph Campbell, and Ronald Campbell.
Mrs. Cox leaves behind, two sons, Glenn Herring of Lexington, Patrick Herring of Lexington, three daughters, Lois Jones (Kyle) of Linwood, Tersea Byrd (Tony) of Silver Valley, Deborah Burkhart of Lexington, one brother, Gary Campbell (Karen) of High Point, twenty two grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She worked in the furniture business in the finishing department for Dixie Furniture. Mrs. Cox attended New Jersey Schools. She enjoyed bingo and watching “The Price Is Right”.
The family will meet at other times at the daughter’s home on Wayne Gobble Rd in Linwood.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Davie Burial & Cremation Chapel with a graveside service on December 1, 2022 at 11:00am at Forest Hill Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Thomas Byrd officiating.
