Derek Macon Curry, 44, of Davidson county died Monday evening, January 7, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was a native of Davidson county, a son born June 22, 1974, to the late James Curry and Mae Rose Winston Curry.
Derek was a graduate of Lexington Senior High. He was employed at Agency 1 as a Private Investigator for ten years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are a brother, James C. Curry of Lexington; a God-son Cornell Wilson Jr.; an uncle, Leroy Winston Jr.; three aunts, Annie Dalton, Elder Emma Click, and Linda Curry.
A Gathering of Family & Friends will be on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation of Lexington. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Files Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. John Geter officiating. Interment will be at South Lexington City Cemetery following the service.
