Betty Sue Blake, 75, passed away late Friday night, April 19, 2019, at Alston Brooks in Lexington. A native of Alexander County, Betty was born on Sunday, April 2, 1944, a daughter to the late Thomas B. Brookshire and Alta Sue Porter. Preceding her in death is a husband of forty-one years, Mr. Kenneth Blake, a daughter, Tammy Sue Brown, and one sister, Barbara Sigmon.
Betty graduated from Lexington Senior High School. She enjoyed nothing more than being a homemaker for her husband and children. She attended Lexington Church of God here in Lexington.
Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Randy Brown of Linwood; two sisters, Mary Hamilton and Lucille Mills both of Linwood; four grandchildren, Angel Rickard, Travis Lee, Jennifer Brown, Steven Lee; and five great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation in Lexington on Monday, April 22, 2019 from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM. A celebration of life service will begin at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation in Lexington with Herman Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
