Barney Lee Livengood, age 73 of Welcome-Arcadia Road passed away September 12, 2020 peacefully at his home after fighting cancer for several years..

Barney was born on February 13, 1947 in Davidson County, the son of Sarah Hege Livengood and Russell David Livengood.

Barney was owner and operator of his trucking company and was a truck driver for most of his life. He was also owner of Barney's garage and car lot..

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Hege Livengood,, his father, Russell David Livengood, and his brother Grady Livengood.

He is survived by his daughter, Candy Livengood Payne (Rick) of Lexington. His son Joe Ellis of West De Moines, Iowa. His girlfriend of 27 years Brenda Ward. His grandchilren,Zachary Payne of Winston-Salem, Amber Payne of Lexington, Fiona Ellis and October Gray both of West De Moines, Iowa.

As requested there will be no service.

A private celebration of life will be at a later date.
