Amanda Suzan (Barnhill) Leonard

Amanda Suzanne Barnhill Leonard, woke up in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, December 30, 2022.

She was born December 2, 1975, in Davidson County, NC, to Keith Dale Barnhill and the late Gaye Pierce.

Amanda was a graduate of Central Davidson High School and worked in the retail and hospitality industries. Mandy was very passionate about helping those in need and volunteered at Davidson Medical Ministries as much as possible.

Family was a large aspect of her life and she treasured the time she spent with her many sisters, sister in laws, brother in laws and nieces. She was very content spending the day surrounded by those that loved her in a backyard laughing and “pickin”.  Spending time with her daughter Sami Jane, making silly Tik Tok videos and laughing was what she truly enjoyed most.

Amanda was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Travis Leonard, her mother, Gaye Barnhill, and her grandparents, Francis Eugene Barnhill and Evelyn Joann Barnhill.

Amanda leaves behind Lonnie James Seamon of Lexington, two sons, Jeremiah Zane Leonard and Christopher Jett Leonard, both of Lexington, Samantha Jane Seamon of Lexington, her father, Keith Dale Barnhill (Melissa Gainey Barnhill), “Ma Sue” Bobbie Henson, bonus mom Sherry Bintliff, six sisters, Jessica Carol Barnhill (Beth James) of Lexington, Kelly Ann Barnhill of Lexington, Amanda Paris (Alex) of Lexington, Shannon Nicole Barnhill (Gunner Goose) of Tulsa, OK, April Renee Barnhill (Valerie Bashford) of Winston Salem, and Rachel Irene Barnhill of Lexington, and three nieces, as well as two step mothers who dearly love her. 

The family will hold a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Amanda on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 2pm in the Chapel of Davie Burial and Cremation of Lexington, with Pastor Craig Barnhill officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the home of her sister, Amanda Paris, at 411 Creekwood Drive, Lexington, NC.
