William "Jeff" Jefferson Helms

William “Jeff” Jefferson Helms, 57, of Lexington, passed away on September 23, 2019 at Hinkle’s Hospice House.

Jeff was born November 30, 1961 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, a son to the late Jefferson Werlie Helms and Gloria Claudette White Helms. He was preceded in death by his father, as well as his step-mother Linda Helms and his nephew Bryan Laxton.

In life, Jeff attended and graduated from North Davidson High School with the class of 1980. He served in the U.S. Navy and achieved the rank of E-4. Jeff was of the Baptist faith and worked as a driver and salesman for Schwann’s Foods. He is survived by his loving sister, Cheryl H. Laxton of Reeds.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29 at the Davie Funeral Chapel in Lexington from 3 – 4 PM. A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 30 at the Lexington City Cemetery at 11 AM.
