Vetis Mae Coppley Rummage, 87, wife of the late Bill Rummage of Lexington, NC passed away at home Tuesday, March 19, 2019. .
Born November 28, 1931 in Lexington, NC, she was the daughter of the late George (Franklin) Lee Coppley and Lena Mae Fritts Coppley.
She attended Linwood School, worked at Philpot Furniture and LFI Plant 8 until her retirement. Up until recent years she was an active member of Jersey Baptist Church in Linwood, NC. She loved baking and made special occasion cakes for many people in the community and her family. .
She is survived by her Sister Martha Coppley Stokes (Don) of Spanish Fork, UT, a daughter, Barbara Younts (Danny), a son Tim Rummage ( Margaret) , a son, Todd Rummage, ( Vicki) all of Lexington, NC; six grandchildren: Joseph Younts, (Kecia), of Venice, FL, Melissa McCollum, (Patrick), Rebekah Musgrave, (David), Jennifer Jacobs all of Lexington, NC, Clay Rummage, (Nikki) of Fairbanks, AK, and Christy Bruff, (Josh Henke) of Kill Devil Hills, NC; three step-grandchildren: Larry Carty, Angela Keen, and Adam Blankenship all of Lexington,
NC; fourteen great grandchildren: Jeremiah Musgrave ( Zoe) of Greensboro, NC , Wyatt Musgrave (Savannah) , Morgan Musgrave, Dakota Jacobs and Russell Hartley all of Lexington, NC, Gracie Jacobs, Jayde Bruff, Taryn Bruff, and Jaxton Henke all of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Dewy Jacobs of Ormond Beach, FL, Jacob Younts and Zachary Younts of Venice, Florida, and Christopher and Ayden Rummage of Fairbanks, AK.; eleven step- great grandchildren, Savannah Carty, Brook Carty, Alassa Carty, Bailey Carty, Eric Keene, Madie Hayes, Zachary Hubbard, Charliegh Blankenship, Alizabeth Blankenship, Emilee Blankenship and Addie Blankenship of Lexington, NC; and a great great grandson: Declan Musgrave. Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Bill and parents Frank and Lena, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Coppley and Bob Coppley, two nephews, Devin Stokes and Robert Coppley.
The family will be receiving friends and loved ones at Jersey Baptist Church on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 12 PM until 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mike Riggsbee officiating. Interment will be at the cemetery of Jersey Baptist Church
In Lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to Life Center of Davidson County, and Hospice of Davidson County.
