Ronald “Paul” Evans, Sr., 59, of Denton, died at his home Sunday, June 3, 2018. He was born in Davidson County on July 13, 1958, to the late Buford Dewey Evans and Vertie Reed Evans.
During his younger years before failing health resulted in his becoming disabled, he worked in the building industry as a carpenter. His disability, however, did not deter his love for playing the drums, singing and listening to music.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Shirley Delaine Bice Evans; his children: Kimberly Evans (Ricky Thompson), Ronald Paul Evans, Jr. (Julie), William Evans (Wendy Rusnak), Cyrstal Rios, Barbara Walker, Idona Damaize (Alexander) and Tiffany Evans; grandchildren: Antonio, Katelynn, Rogelio and Yasmin Evans, Angela and Gabriela Baeza, Ilana, Jude, Zachary, Keira and Siraja Evans, Josiah and Alesondra Damaize, Arriana Washington, Kylie Payne, Christopher Shell, Cheyenne, Ashiya Walker and Aniya Abrams-Ward; and his great grandchildren, Loshi Marie and Daniel, Jr; sisters, Joan Hartline (David) and Susie Ellis (Ronnie); and brothers, Buford Dee Evans (Rita), Mackie Evans (Brenda) and Jeffery Evans (Donna).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Chris Shell; brothers: Roger, Moses, Ronald and Donald Evans; sisters, Dreama Kimbrell, Linda Cervantes and Carrie Gardner; and his step-father, James Elliot.
A gathering of family & friends will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, June 10, in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington where memories may be shared. Rev. Tim Sink will officiate the service.
