Robert Donald Myers, 76, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born in Davidson County on February 13, 1942, the son of the late Fred William Myers and Mary Bell Williams Myers. He was the widower of Emma Sue Leonard Myers who died May 20, 1999. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Billy Myers, and a sister, Frances Hill.
Survivors include three sons: Donald Myers (Vivian) of Welcome, Gary Myers (Debra) of Advance and Mark Myers of Welcome; two daughters, Pamela Harrison of Lewisville and Mary Bare (Mike) of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Wayne Myers (Frances) and Harold Myers (Anne), both of Lexington; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a special friend of 18 years, Rosie Craver of Lexington.
Mr. Myers attended North Davidson High School, following which he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired from a 40-year career with Parkdale Mills where he was a fixer/winder. He was a member of Reeds Baptist Church.
The visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Wednesday, June 20, at Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 21, at the Forest Hill Memorial Park Chapel officiated by Rev. Tim Sink. Military Honors will be accorded by the Davidson County Honor Guard and the US Air Force Honors Team.
