Myrtle Virginia Heitman Everhart, 88 went home to be with the Lord, early Saturday morning, October 6, 2018, at Hinkle Hospice House, after eight long years of declining and failing health. A native from Davidson County, born March 5, 1930, a daughter to the late Raymond and Bertha Shaw Heitman. Preceding her in death are James W. Everhart, a husband of many years; a sister, Margie Floyd; and six brothers, William Heitman (Pete), David Heitman, James Heitman, Mart Heitman, RJ Heitman, and Vernon Heitman.
Myrtle was a former employer of Manhattan Shirt Company and a retiree of PPG. She loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with family across the country. Memories of her most favorite trips was Alaska, Hawaii, and the Beach trips. She loved to sing and was a faithful member of the Grace Alliance Church Choir as long as her health permitted. She loved flowers and working in her yard and was an encourager and had the gift of hospitality to others. She loved family gatherings and was a wonderful cook. Her family meant the world to her especially her grandson and her great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memories are a son Kent Everhart of Glade Valley; a daughter, Vickie Perrell (Mike) of Welcome; a grandson, Todd Perrell (Donna) of Welcome; and four great grandchildren, Skyenne, Hunter, and Belle Perrell of Welcome; and Chaela Byrd of Lexington; a brother, Rodney Heitman (Jeanette) of Lexington; two sisters, Shirley Rhodes and Vernell Sutherland, both of Lexington.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Grace Alliance Church on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at 3:00 PM, with the Dr. Ronald Wellner and Rev. Keith Heitman. Family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately after at Grace Alliance Church Cemetery.
