Lowell Thomas Jarrell, 84, passed away on Wednesday night, July 25, 2018, at Hinkle Hospice House of Davidson County. He was a native of McDowell County, West Virginia, born April 14, 1934, the son of late Bill and Lillian Jarrell. He was also preceded in death by a stepson Christopher Edward Mason.
He served in the Korean War as a Veteran for the U.S. Army. He retired from Food Lion where he worked as a Warehouse Supervisor in the Distribution Center for more than six years. He is a graduate of McDowell County High School. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memories are a loving wife, Mary Smith Jarrell, of 43 years. A son Richard Jarrell (Kelly) of Lewisville, KY; four daughters, Vickie Williams (Mike) of Peachland, N.C., Dixie Saylor (Corny) of Lewisville, KY., Denise Jarrell of OH., Lillian Jarrell of CA.; and four stepdaughters, Tammy Taylor (Bob) of Winston Salem, N.C., Lorraine Dizon (Bobby) of VA, Roberta Loftis (Richard), and Lynn Daulton ( Johnny ) both of Virginia; twenty two grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Mountain View Baptist with the Pastor Tim Miller officiating.
