Jeffrey Glen Byerly, 58, passed away Friday evening, May 10, 2019 at Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington. Jeffrey was a native of Davidson County. Born on a July 20, 1960, a son to the late William Glen Byerly and Ann Caudle Howell Byerly.
Jeffrey graduated from Stoner Thomas School. For more than thirty-five years he faithfully worked with his friends at Workshop of Davidson in the workshop department. He was a member of the Davidson County Civitan Club. He was life-time member of the Special Olympics as long as his health allowed. He truly loved friends and co-workers as he considered them family.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories of Jeffrey are three brothers, Scott Byerly (Teresa), Clegg Byerly (Pattie), Robert Byerly (Amy) all of Lexington; two sisters, LaRue Kennedy and Felicia Springer (Rick) both of Lexington. Several nieces and nephews, and his big-hearted family at the group home in Lexington.
A graveside memorial service will held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington. Pastor Gloria Cross will be the officiator.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the entire staff at Hospice of Davidson County, everybody at Workshop of Davidson, and the entire staff at Brookstone Retirement Center. Every single one of you played a special part in Jeffreys life and he loved you all. A very special thanks to the caregivers, Donese and Teresa. Our family will forever be grateful, thank you.
The family asked that all donations be directed to the Workshop of Davidson or to the activity department at Brookstone Retirement Center.
