James Leon Cain, 76, passed Monday afternoon at The Hospice House in Lexington with loved ones close by his side. Born October 7, 1942, a native of Robeson County, North Carolina, a son to the late couple, Raymond and Sally Cain. He was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Cain, three brothers, Billy, Eugene, and Robert Cain.
James worked as carpenter in the construction business for both residential and commercial properties for a little over five years. Prior to that he worked at Coble Dairy for over thirty years. James was of Baptist faith.
Those left to cherish his memory are a currently separated wife, Gladys Cain; loving partner, Teresa Ricker; two sons, Roger Dale Reeves (Kimberly), James Cain Jr. (Melissa) of Salisbury; a daughter, Kathy Russell (Michael) of Salisbury; a daughter in-law, Jennifer Cain of Salisbury; a brother, Paul Earl Cain of Virginia; four sisters, Malvinai, Rosalee, Joyce, Mary Elizabeth; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Elijah,Emmeri, Madelyn, Aubree, Kyrsten, Kinzy, and Lindzy: and close family friends, Becky Lain (Greg) of Lexington.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Mile Two Church in Lexington. The Rev. Bradley Testerman will be officiating. Family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park immediately following the service.
