Irene Lysette Parsons, 82 died during the late hours on June 30, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. A native of Boone, North Carolina, Irene was born on October 22, 1936, a daughter to the late Jesse H. Greene and Blanche Darty Hamby Greene. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Howell, Bruce, Gerald, and one sister, Helen Sorrels.
Irene worked as a machine operator at PPG in the Fiber Glass Plant for more than twenty-six years. She enjoyed spending all her spare time with her children. Her passion was always with her family.
Left to cherish her memory are a son, Robert Vaughn of Lexington; three daughters, Pamela K. Vaughn of Greensboro, Turie L. Vanderschaaf of Lexington, Lisa L. Vaughn of Jacksonville; two brothers, Steve Greene of McCormic, South Carolina, Edward Greene (Pam) of Lexington, one sister, Mary Greene of Pilot Mountain, three grandchildren, Johnathan Queen, Jessica Atherton, Kenneth Tate; five great grandchildren, Anna Atherton, Alex Atherton, Katalina Tate, Lane Queen, and Persephone Tate.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the memorial service which will be held at The Kingdom Hall in Lexington located at 130 Fuller St. Lexington, NC on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 3 PM.
