Derek Skylar-Brian Hanson

Derek Skylar-Brian Hanson, 18, of Lexington died suddenly on December 26, 2019. A native of Davidson County, he was the son to Chifton Pendergrass and Heather Christine Hanson. He is preceded in death by his great grandmothers, Dee Byerly and Mary Walker.

Derek was a Senior at Lexington Senior High School in Davidson County. He was a young man full of life and happiness. He never had a sad face or bad attitude against anybody, he was always smiling. Derek enjoyed being outside and traveling the city. He loved venturing out and sightseeing. One of his favorite past times are grilling out dinner with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his niece and nephew.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Heather Christine Hanson and Chifton Pendergrass; four brothers, Devin Hanson, Isaiah Pendergrass, Cameron Pendergrass, Tylen Lilly; a sister, Kristin Kindle; a niece, Blessyn Hanson; a nephew, Louie Holt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in the auditorium at Lexington Senior High School from 3:30 – 6:30 PM  Donald Holt will be officiating.
