David Wheeler Wyatt (72 years) of Lexington, North Carolina, entered into the presence of the Lord, on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center in Winston Salem.
David was born June 5, 1947 in Forsyth County, NC to the late Wheeler Wyatt and Margaret Merritt Wyatt. He attended Forsyth Tech for a short time. He owned and operated Granny’s Bait and Tackle Shop, as well as Fat Cats Pizza.
He was in the Army where he proudly and courageously served his country from 1966 to 1969. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
David enjoyed attending church with his wife, Mary, at God’s Covering Outreach Center.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Mary Bowers Wyatt; a son, David Wyatt Jr. and wife Jacklyn of Lexington; three daughters, Angela Williamson of Winston-Salem; Amy Wyatt and Brian Spainhour of Pinnacle; and Leslie Welch and husband Wesley of Lexington; two sisters, Margaret Sadler and husband Everette of Walkertown and Donna Smith of Rural Hall; 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A public viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2019 from 6pm until 8pm at Psalms 91 Church in Lexington.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 2pm at Psalms 91 Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service, with the Rev. Max Shoaf officiating.
Inurnment will be held immediately following the service in the church cemetery with full military honors.
