David Edward Beck

David Edward Beck, 84, died Friday, August 30, 2019 at Lexington Medical Center in Davidson County, North Carolina. A son born on November 29, 1934 to the late James Walter Beck and Leila Mae Burgess Beck. He was a native of Davidson County. He was preceded in death by parents, a son, Randy Beck, two brothers, J.W. Beck and Jack Beck, three sisters, Mary Chaffin, Alline Misenhiemer, and Margaret Beck.

David attended school at Southmont Elementary in Davidson County. From 1953-1955 he served in the Army.  In the early 70's he worked as a firefighter at Southmont Fire Department. David retired from the trucking industry where he worked as truck driver for more than ten years at Terminal Trucking. He was of Baptist faith.

He leaves behind a loving wife of sixty-three years, Betty Louise Wrenn Beck; a daughter, Cathy Hailey of Lexington; two brothers, Richard Beck, Johnny Beck both of Lexington; two sisters, Hannah Loflin of Denton, Diane Houck of West Jefferson; four grandchildren, Gene Hailey, Donna Mantooth, Denita Burns, Kent Newsome; six great grandchildren, Frankie Hailey, Katlyn Burns, Logan Burns, Kadyn Newsome, Michelle Owens, and TJ Stacy; one great great grandchild, Kristopher Hailey.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Cross Point Church, 310 Biesecker Road Lexington, N.C. at 4 PM with Pastor Michael Greer officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior.

In leiu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Davidson County.
