Barbara Ann Workman, 79, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Davidson County. Born June 4, 1940, a native of Davidson County, the daughter to the late Robert Glen Workman and Pearl Edna B. Workman. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Geysha Hopson, and a grandson, Scott Hughes.
As a small child she attended Hedrick’s Grove United Church on Old Hwy 64 in Lexington. She was enrolled at Davis-Townsend School Systems. Later in life she worked in the food industry at Doughnut Dinette for a short while. After having her first born she would then spend her days being a homemaker for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are a husband of thirty years, Billy Lapish Sr; two sons, Gregory Hughes of Lexington, Jeffrey Ken Hughes (Gail) of Salisbury; stepson, William Joseph Lapish Jr. (Holly) of Lexington; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren; and very close friends, Mr.Bill Frank and his wife.
Gathering of family and friends will be in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation in Lexington on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville at 10:00 AM.
