Barbara Gayle Brewer Lanning, 69, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Forsyth Medical Center. A native of Davidson County, she was born December 19, 1947, to Roy Brewer and the late Pauline James Brewer. She was the wife of Lawrence “Tap” Edward Lanning and they had been married for 53 years.

Mrs. Lanning graduated from North Davidson High School and became a homemaker for her family. In addition to her father and her husband, she is survived by her beloved daughters, Lisa Dawn Yarbrough and Tammy Lanning Rhodes, both of Lexington; one brother, Clint Brewer of Clemmons and six grandchildren: Neal Patrick Conner, Grace Yarbrough, Ella Yarbrough, Eve Yarbrough, Miranda Rhodes and Savannah Rhodes

The family will receive friends Friday, July 14, 2017, from 7:00-8:30 PM in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington. A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Lexington City Cemetery with Preacher Tim Sink officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be sent to Hospice of Davidson County (200 Hospice Way, Lexington).
