Alice Faye Shaw Newman, 64, of Lexington, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Brian Center of Lexington. She was born in Davidson County on October 17, 1952, the daughter of the late Baron B. and Minnie Maxine Everhart Shaw. She was the widow of Larry Joe Newman and they were married for 47 years. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and Kenneth Shaw.

In addition to being a wife and mother, Mrs. Newman spent most of her life working in the furniture industry in the finishing department. She was a member of Christian Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Jonathan Newman (Wendy) of Lexington and Bradley Scott Newman (Ayla) of Mill Spring, NC; one brother, Paul Shaw of Asheboro; one sister, Patricia Cranford (Russell) of Lexington; six grandchildren: Rachel, Patrick, Tyler, Cody, Cole and Cassidy; plus one great grandchild, Savannah.

The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 3, in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM and again after the service.
