Rose Marie (Westbrook) Powell

Rose Marie Westbrook Powell, 73, of Lexington passed away Friday, February 2, 2018, at her residence. A native of Franklin, VA, she was born July 23, 1944 to the late Joseph Hugh Westbrook and Elsie Marion Thomas. She was the widow of the late Larry Weaver Powell.

Mrs. Powell graduated from Central Davidson High School. She had been employed by Linwood Furniture Company and was a member of Arrington Heights Free Will Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Robin Powell Lemley (Billy) and Ginger Powell Bertaux (Steven) both of Lexington; two brothers, Daniel Westbrook (Mary Ann) of Lexington and Doug Westbrook (Martha) of Denton; five sisters, Myrtle Carlwhile of Lexington, Heides Jones of Lexington, Wilma Michael (David) of Linwood, Margaret Morrow (Ike) of Southmont and Elizabeth Wright (Tom) of VA; and four grandchildren, John and Jacob Lemley and Kendall and Kyleigh Bertaux.  

The Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Arrington Heights Freewill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the start of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington to help offset final expenses.
