Margaret Beatrice (Lanier) Metcalf

Margaret Beatrice “Bea” Lanier Metcalf, 74, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Lexington Health Care Center, just 24 days following the death of her beloved husband of 55 years, Jerry Junior Metcalf.  She was born November 6, 1943 in Davidson County to the late Robert Wade Lanier and Sarah Margaret Presley Lanier.

Mrs. Metcalf retired from Lanier Grocery and was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are one son, Scott Metcalf of Lexington; one daughter, Sarah Stoops of Mocksville; one brother, Rick Lanier (Pat) of Lexington; one sister, Lena Mae Presnell (Lynn) of Tyro; seven grandchildren, Phillip Thompson, Teresa Darnell, Amy Metcalf, Brittany Metcalf, Christy Metcalf, Searah Stoops and Allissa Stoops and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers, Carlton and Terry Lanier; two sisters, Shelby Perry and Diane Lambert; one son, Dale Metcalf and one daughter, Penny Hobson.

The visitation will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington. The Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel

with Rick Lanier officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to help offset final expenses be directed to Davie Burial & Cremation Service, 1403 S. Main St., Lexington, NC 27292 which is serving the Metcalf family.
