Johnny Sylvester Hobbs of Denton died suddenly Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at the age of 55. He was born February 12, 1962, the son of Gladys Marie Swims, who survives, and the late Carl Edward Hobbs.  Johnny worked as a carpenter in both the residential and commercial construction industry.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Johnath Hobbs, of Georgia; three step-brothers: Carl, Michael and James Green, all of Logan, WV; two sisters, Carla Mae Kenneda of Lexington and Roberta Bowman of Logan, WV; and two half-sisters, April and Angel Hobbs of Logan, WV. Other that his father, he was also preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Marilyn Hobbs.

A gathering of local family & friends was held in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington on Saturday, November 4.  

Afterwards, the staff of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington transported Mr. Hobbs back to his West Virginia home where services will be held at Stafford Family Funeral Home (www.staffordfamilyfuneralhome.com).
